Following the Savior in Galilee
The life and ministry of Jesus Christ unfolded in real places among real people. The hills of Galilee, the shores of the Sea of Galilee, the villages where He taught and the roads He traveled provide an important setting for understanding His words and works.
Blessed Pilgrimage: The Way of Christ the Lord invites readers to explore the land where much of the Savior's ministry occurred. Combining scripture, history, archaeology, and original Holy Land photography, this volume explores the places associated with Jesus Christ's ministry in Upper Galilee, Lower Galilee, and around the Sea of Galilee.
The purpose of the book is not simply to describe places. It is to deepen appreciation for the Savior by connecting His teachings and ministry to the setting in which they occurred. When we understand the geography, culture, and history of the land, familiar passages of scripture often take on new meaning.
A Revised and Expanded Edition
An earlier edition of this book was published under the title Blessed Pilgrimage: The Way of Christ the Lord. While many readers found it helpful, its large format and extensive use of photographs made it more expensive than intended.
This new edition has been completely revised and redesigned, featuring a more reader-friendly format, updated content, and a carefully selected collection of photographs that support the scriptural message while making the book more affordable while preserving the depth of the original edition.
The Blessed Pilgrimage Series
Planned volumes will explore Galilee, the Jordan Rift Valley, Jerusalem, and the wilderness regions of the Holy Land, examining how geography illuminates scripture and God's covenant purposes.
Volume 1: Walking the Way of Christ
The Galilee where Jesus lived, taught, called disciples, and performed many of His miracles.
Volume 2: Embracing the Covenant
The Rift Valley from Mount Hermon to the Dead Sea, exploring the covenant history of Israel.
Volume 3: Jerusalem—The City of the Great King
Jerusalem, the Mount of Olives, and the surrounding region, exploring the Savior's teachings, visits, and ministry in the city that stood at the heart of Jewish worship and covenant life.
Volume 4: Navigating the Wilderness
The Mediterranean coast, the Judean Shephelah, Southern Judea, and the Negev, exploring wilderness themes that run throughout scripture.
Together, these volumes seek to help readers see the land of the Bible not merely as a collection of historical sites, but as a witness of God's covenant dealings and of the life and mission of Jesus Christ.
